The Best Way in Shipping a Car to Puerto Rico

Shipping a car to Puerto Rico can be a huge hassle if not done right.  The Island of Enchantment is known as a great tourist destination and also a fabulous place to set up permanent residence, yet its faraway location in the Caribbean Sea presents a few obstacles.  Also, having lived there on the island as a child myself, I can attest that Puerto Rican movers are not known for their efficiency or their dependability.  When our family moved from Hawaii to Puerto Rico, we knew it would take a while before our car would arrive, but we did not anticipate that it would take three months for it to make it to our new home.  This meant a ton of walking and bumming off rides before we could transport ourselves around the island.

You probably are not shipping a car from a quarter of the way around the world.  Hopefully, you are in a closer location, like on the East Coast.  If you are shipping a car to Puerto Rico, I would advise hiring a towing New Jersey company.  New Jersey is relatively close to Puerto Rico and it is known to have a large amount of Puerto Ricans, many who have been to the island and are familiar with the customs as well as the language.  In fact, the workers will most likely both know English and Spanish.  Also, they know all the exporting and importing policies that you may not be aware of.  (Luckily, Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US, so the island is generally cooperative with shipping cars from the US, although you will definitely want someone who knows at least a little more than you do.) These companies can give you a good deal on shipping, including many services such as car repair, insurance, and storage.

All of these services are at an affordable rate, and one that is well worth it if you want transportation.  You may be able to catch taxis or buses, but these may not always be available on your side of the island, and these services may not always be reliable.  Puerto Rico is an excellent place to be if you are going to be there for a long period of time.  There are several unique and exotic beaches, great historical sites, a tropical rainforest, and many other attractions.  However, you cannot enjoy these sites without transportation, and it’s costly and virtually pointless to rent a car when you already have one being shipped.  If you use a towing company NJ, your car shipment will likely come in a week.  If you keep these benefits of hiring such a business in mind, you can have a practically perfect permanent stay in Puerto Rico when it comes to transportation.
