No, I'm not talking about your fruits and vegetables! I'm talking about a great clothing line that has been in business since 1984, and I'm here to tell you more about it!
Beginning
Thom and Mary Ellen Vernon met at Kansas State University. They were track teammates then, and have been life teammates ever since. After college they moved to California, where the sun shines bright and the ideas shine brighter. In the 1984 Olympics, Thom and Mary Ellen sold silk-screen T-shirts and custom jewelry, and that spirit still lives on in Fresh Produce today—bright simple fabrics that are easily worn by everyone!
Fresh Produce wasn't officially born until 1986 when Thom and Mary Ellen were in La Jolla, California. Shortly after its creation, Mary Ellen's sister Jennifer Haney joined their group, making it truly a family business dedicated to creating family clothes.
Middle
By 1988, Fresh Produce clothing was already being sold in Nordstrom's stores, and took off from there. Thom and Mary Ellen relocated from their home in Long Beach, California, to the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado. They created, and still create, the best in casual, resort and sportswear.
Now!
Now Fresh Produce is more popular than ever! It is $50 million company and their product lines are sold in Nordstrom's and in Walt Disney resorts and stores, as well as in over 800 specialty boutiques in North America. They create clothing for women from ages 6 and above. Fresh Produce is truly a family company that is loved by families all over the globe!
