The Yarn Headband

"The Yarn Headband" is a quick and easy project that can be created from an older headband you may already have, or you can purchase an inexpensive headband and wrap it.

Supplies:

A new or used headband

1 to 2 skeins of yarn

A hot glue gun with glue sticks

Scissors

Directions:

1-Take hot glue and run a line of hot glue along the bottom of head and attach the end of the yarn to hot glue.  (Be careful not to burn your fingers when doing this.  Take the end of an old paintbrush or use a toothpick and press the yarn into the hot glue.)

2-While glue is still warm wrap the yarn around the bottom of the headband while pressing the yarn into the hot glue to secure it then begin to wrap the headband.

3-As your wrap your headband gently press the yarn in a downward motion on the headband to make sure there are not gaps and you can even place quick, light streams of hot glue around the the top of the headband to keep secure yarn in place.

4-When you reach the other end of the headband do the same process as when beginning the headband and trim off any excess yarn.

There are many different and more decorating techniques for this project as well as ways to make the headband more comfortable in the original project idea which is found in "25 'No Crocheting' and 'No Knitting' Yarn Projects! (Projects that require the use of your imagination but 'knot' your sewing skills.) found at www.minuteideas.com
