This friendly neighborhood diner serves up American comfort-food favorites.
Sitting at the dinner table with family and friends is how memories and traditions are built. After 11 years at Portland's Wildwood Restaurant and Bar, chef Adam Sappington has created a casual, family-friendly atmosphere offering great food and service. His wife, Jackie, prepares the desserts. She has been Pastry Chef at local Portland hotspots such as, Cafe Azul, Lauro Kitchen, and New Seasons. Items like Rhubarb Pie, Chocolate Pudding with baked-to-order cookies, and the Fallen ice cream cone, will complement the dinner menu. The menu has a wide offering of vegetarian, seafood, and meat appetizers and entrees. The menu reflects the season- Spring vegetable Hand pies, wild king salmon, and Cast Iron skillet Fried Chicken with braised Bibb lettuce and Asparagus. A kids menu is available, and kids under 10 eat for free on Sunday.

Food was good but too pricey for the neighborhood. Seemed like I could get myself some Ice and a Lady of the night two blocks down! (more)

We went as a large group. I had read the reviews prior to going, so felt I was prepared for any "issues" that might have come my way re: tough meat, curt service or over rated food. I didn't find any of those things. The... (more)

I went to Country Cat a few weeks ago for brunch for the first time. I loved the interior - contemporary diner setting with a cool color scheme of orange and grey with beautiful wood. It kind of reminded me of the doug fir a... (more)

Perhaps I chose poorly from the menu, or perhaps I'm just picky. Either way our dinner at Country Cat last night didn't leave me planning to go back. Our group goes out monthly to a new restaurant to try it, have been... (more)

I took my family to the Country Cat for brunch. The food and friendly service at the country kitchen was fantastic. I had eggs benedict with smoked steelhead instead of ham and I loved it. My husband said that the... (more)
