Cricket Oak Originals was born from Terry Holmes lifelong love of horses and art. The name and logo are derived from "Cricket," Ms. Holmes first horse. Each unique work is carefully crafted from beginning to end. Every piece is designed by Ms. Holmes and constructed by skilled artisans in Pennsylvania. Then they are sanded and primed in Ms. Holmes atelier in Bradford, Rhode Island and delivered to recognized artists throughout the country. Painting the remainder of the chests and finishing details are finally executed on their return to Ms. Holmes. The pieces vary from exquisite oil paintings in the style of Seymour and Stubbs, to poignant original paintings of the wild horses of Shackleford Banks, rendered from photos taken by Ms. Holmes in 1995. Cricket Oak Originals is as much at ease with Southwestern artworks in the style of Remington, as with the stylized equine motifs that are Ms. Holmes pleasure.
