Our Strategic Immersion program's most coveted components are Verbal Advantage and Principles for Living. These components use mnemonics to engage the youth. The youth help create the mnemonics that are used. Some of the memory devices the youth have implemented to retain their words and adages are skits (plays), improvisational comedy, divergent games, and songs. The more outlandish the mnemonic the better the participants are at retaining the vocabulary word, adage, or Proverb. All mnemonics are done in a wholesome manner. DIVINE operates under the notion of a high-energy, fun, and exciting place to learn. When youth enter the program they create a wish list. Their wish list must be reasonable. The participants? wish list generally consists of items like an iPad, iPod, stereo, keyboard, computer, headphones, CDs, gift cards, and/or cash. Our goal is to ensure participants receive at least one item on their wish list. This becomes a powerful way to motivate youth to learn.

Business Description
D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute serves children beyond the classroom under the auspices of an arcade-like (fun) environment. Strategic Immersion is our summer program where youth get immersed into enrichment activities that provoke lifelong learning. While we use education as the medium for change, it is our intentionality and program design that creates the impetus for lifelong learning and life improvement.
