Class instruction in Yoga
Yoga Teacher/Instructor I have been practicing Yoga for over thirty years. I received my national certification through Bhumi?s Yoga & Wellness Center, a nationally recognized school of Yoga in 1997. I am also a Certified Chair Yoga Instructor through the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Liz Franklin's Yoga in Chairs. I continually expand my knowledge of yoga and natural health and wellness by attending seminars and workshops throughout the country as well as teaching. I work with animals as a Healing Touch for Animals practitioner. I am also a foster home for Ohio Basset Rescue and love to play with my 3 basset hound gals. I am also a Reiki practitioner helping others through energy work.
YOGA ON A MAT Emily Gareis draws from a variety of styles to teach Hatha Yoga. She emphasizes breath, relaxation, balance, flexibility and strength. The yoga sessions are designed to make accommodations for the individual. You will learn to integrate yoga into your daily activities, improve your alignment and reduce pain and cranky joints. No experience is required for Hatha Yoga. The classes are approximately 45 min long and end in meditation. YOGA IN A CHAIR Yoga in a Chair is designed to allow almost anyone to participate in a very gentle form of Yoga. It works the joints and muscles to increase flexibility, strength, balance, and circulation. It goes beyond typical exercises in that it encourages quiet reflection, proper breathing, and better posture. The benefits of this program are remarkable. Students report reduced blood pressure, faster recovery from injury or surgery, better sleep, increased mobility, improved posture and some students have eve n gained height. Classes are approximately. 45 min. long and end in meditation KIDS YOGA These classes invite the child to use their imagination and creative minds to visualize what the Yoga posture imitates within the environment. Students will practice postures individually before joining in to group, partner poses and games and students will practice postures for physical strength, flexibility, concentration and balance. Classes are approximately. 30 - 45 min. long and end in ?quiet time?. (All ages of children from 3-10 can be blended together in this classes). TEEN YOGA: Young adults will learn to build self-esteem and a positive body image while creating a balance of flexibility and strength for the body and mind connection. These Yoga classes will be a preventative measure for sports injuries, growing pains, hormonal changes and a weak or overactive ego.
