Business Description

When ELTC was founded in 1980, it was the only company in the country dedicated to producing classic American theater. Many of the shows, like the 1917 Pulitzer-Prize winning comedy "Why Marry?" had not been produced in 86 years until ELTC brought this wonderful play back to life. New works include plays about Lizzie Borden, Ambrose Bierce, and Louisa May Alcott. ELTC's archives are located at Ohio State University, at the request of the University. In October 2009, ELTC received New Jersey Theater Alliance's "Achievement of Excellence Award." The 2010 production season includes: "Emma Goldman: My Life," a world premiere by Lorna Lable; "Paul Robeson through His Words and Music" by Gayle Stahlhuth; "The Dictator" by Richard Harding Davis; "Berkeley Square" by John L. Balderston; "Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle" a 1930-NBC-radio-style production; "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" based on L. Frank Baum's 1902 book; and two events about Mark Twain to mark the 100th Anniversary of his death.
