We loved New York and New York loved us: a beauteous baby was born and she grew beyond the dreams of her parents. Our beautiful monster. A safe haven in Manhattan; for us and for fellow globalites of all shapes and sizes.
Gershwin-area was the Tin Pan Alley of the olden days. This is where the pop songs of 30's and 40's were conceived, hence the name. And our hotel is over one hundred years old! What a grand reason to party.

on Citysearch Aug 11, 2005Fabulous from the outside, this hotel rapidly shrinks as you head lobby to elevator to room. Funky as all get-out, it's not recommended for claustrophobics or anyone planning to do much more than sleep in the room.... (more)

on Citysearch Mar 24, 2005Stayed here two times and liked it. The Gershwin offers funky, inexpensive rooms, with a fun, pop-art painted lobby . Very clean and exceedingly Bohemian this hotel has the feeling of a upscale youth hostel. Very... (more)
