This historic 1905 hotel, renovated in 1998 by McMenamins, is located in charming McMinnville, in the midst of Willamette Valley wine country. Relax in cozy antique-filled rooms, order breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in the pub, savor a glass of Edgefield wine in the speakeasy-style Cellar Bar and more. Perhaps the jewel on the crown is the legendary Rooftop Bar, reached by ascending the elevator or stairs to the top floor and then taking yet another flight of steps to the roof. Recently expanded with additional seating and even loftier views, guests can take in a 360-degree vista skyline, coastal range and vineyards below while enjoying McMenamins handcrafted ales, wines or spirits along with a meal from the pub. Hotel Oregon really takes off in May, when it hosts its annual UFO Festival, now the second-largest alien-related gathering in the nation.

on Citysearch Dec 27, 2008The hotel fails to inform you that there will be a wedding reception 10 FEET from your room. And drunk people will be all over in the halls and outside your window yelling and throwing up. Then they will pass out up above... (more)
