Alberta Street dips a toe into Spain at this happening tapas spot.
lolo, a Spanish tapas restaurant and bar from restaurateur Giorgio Kawas and chef Peter Schuh of Giorgio's in the Pearl District, focuses on finger foods designed to compliment Spanish cocktails and wines. lolo draws from the culinary traditions of all of Northern Spain, including the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia. In addition to tapas and raciones influenced by Spanish favorites and Pacific Northwest ingredients, lolo's Spanish wines come from the regions including Rioja, Navarra, Rias Baixas and Catalunya. lolo's setting is contemporary: clean, simple materials and forms combine with warm colors and tactile surfaces. Displaying the work of neighborhood artists, lolo embraces the palpable energy of the Alberta Arts District. Due to the use of fresh seasonal ingredients, our menu changes daily.

I am not a fan of the tapas concept. Somehow, this didn't feel like that, we ordered 1o-12 plates, for four of us, plus cocktails (plenty) and our bill was crazy low. I was full and happy and the food was fresh and gorgeous... (more)

I happened into here with my dining partner and I was amazed that it was not full at all on a Friday night while Toro Bravo is inpenetrable and always crowded - but lolo is far better. I agree with the other reviewer who has... (more)

I see people calling this the best tapas place around. True, but that doesn't go far enough. It's one of the best Portland restaurants of any kind -- based on the food, anyway. I've only been there once, and sat at a... (more)

I've been to Lolo three times now.The tapas and wine list are good, and the servers have always been competent (albeit harried). Harried is: greeting us (after fifteen min.), telling about the specials, and then... (more)
