Business Description
I have worked in and managed every facet of accounting, from creating an invoice, to reconciling an account, to verifying accurate data on financial statements and reporting company performance to upper management. In addition I have managed as many as 12 people, ranging from clerks to degreed accountants, and have excelled at streamlining a staff of 10 down to 6 by reorganizing job roles and helping employees work more efficiently. Ive stepped into management positions where morale was bad and deadlines were unachievable and turned it around with results of employees working together as a team to meet deadlines. All positions have included responsibilities related to system conversions and verifying data accuracy. This has afforded me the opportunity to learn about all departments of a company, as opposed to just accounting. Once I left the professional world to build a family, I continued my accounting skills with my own accounting business (that I had started 10 years prior as a side business). Over the past 20 years I have done everything related to accounting while specializing in QuickBooks software, including set-up and training customers how to set up their books and use the software, cleaning up messes, accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, processing credit card transactions, paying bills, bank recs, account recs, payroll, recording journal entries, running reports and verifying accuracy, managing taxes due, and all other outside reporting.
