Business Description

How I became the STL Dogwhisperer. I have been around dogs since I was old enough to walk. My first dog as a child was a German Shepard named Jake who was a police trained attack dog. I remember as a kid watching my father train and work with Jake. At age 15, I started training the neighbors dogs and realized they listened to me but it wasnt until a few years later I started to understand why. I would sit for hours and watch dogs interact with eachother. I figured if I can understand how they communicate then maybe I could figure out how to talk to dogs. After years of studying and being around dogs, it became clear to me that dogs look at humans as part of their pack and look to us for guidence. Dogs understand way more about us then we realize. When we are upset, frustrated, angry, fearful, nervous, happy, excited and every other emotion we feel, dogs know it. Our emotions are written all over our body and in the tone of voice we use. Dogs are the same way. By being able to read our dogs state of mind, we can start to change unwanted behaviors. I started volunteering at Stray Rescue of St. Louis and being around fearful, aggressive, feral, unsocialized dogs, I seen the need for dog psychology instead of dog training. A year later I was working full-time as the Director of Operations for the training department rehabilitating dogs and teaching people the importance of calm-assertive energy and stable leadership. Two qualities we can use in everyday life to improve our interaction and relationships with eachother. After highschool, I became a volunteer firefighter. After just a few months of being a fire fighter, I enrolled in college and became a paramedic. On March 5th, 2010, I fell from about 80 feet breaking almost every bone in my face, shattered my right leg and my right arm was amputated. No longer being able to work on a ambulance again, I vowed that I would help save as many dogs as I could. It is now my mission to educate people, and show dogs balance.? My biggest influences are the people and dogs I get to work with. Thank you "weezy" for always believing in me. John and McKenzie Garcia for teaching me so much and Cesar Millan for paving the way.
