K-Town goes west with this GIY eatery for those who like the thrill of the grill.
Wharo Korean Charcoal BBQ was founded in Marina del Rey in May 2004. I Since opening, we've been experiencing how much foreign customers love Korean food, made with only high-quality meat and natural seasonings. Cook your own Korean BBQ and Kobe beef over a charcoal fire. Try the Korean BBQ with seaweed salad, pajyun and soju. All meals come with an abundance of side dishes called panchan, which includes spicy Kimchi. Wharo has six varieties of soju including raspberry, plum and owner Mijin Namgoong's home made ginseng soju. Sake is also available. Servers will aid the grilling-impaired.

The tabletop grill is probably my favorite part of the Korean BBQ experience...and the braised pork or beef strips are so good and flavorful! (more)

Ridiculous wait: Dined at Wharo a few years ago, and it was ok. Tried to go back tonite and waited over an hour, got fed up, and left. Not worth the wait. (more)
