Business Description
WNY PAWS (Western New York Professional Animal Waste Services) is a home-based sole proprietorship that has been in business for eleven years. WNY PAWS offers dog waste removal services along with lawn care and basic landscaping.
The company was started by Thomas M. Truesdale in 1999 after taking an advertising/business class. The objective of the class was to create a business plan. At this time, the waste removal industry was growing, so after some extensive research and feedback from other company owners, the company was born. After obtaining a list of all the registered dog owners in the city, eleven weekly customers signed on after just one newspaper ad. Since the only real overhead cost was gas and trash bags, WNY PAWS was profitable from the start.
Mission: WNY PAWSÂ’ mission is to be perceived as the most valued provider of dog waste and landscaping services. The company has been very successful due to the high standard of service and care provided to the customers.
The company offers a unique service to its customers. There is only one other company in the area currently offering dog waste removal services, and that company is currently only servicing the city of Buffalo and South towns. About half of WNY PAWSÂ’ accounts have taken advantage of this service.
Future expansion plans include snow removal, lawn spraying and more involved landscaping design jobs.
