BOOT CAMP BIRTHDAYS is a birthday and special events entertainment service established in 2009 designed and operated by a veteran US Army Soldier, Drill Sergeant Shane Collins, assisted by his battle buddy Drill Sergeant Nicole Fernandez. Together they have worked to create a simulation experience that allows children ages 6 and older to be put through the paces of a modified 2 Hour US Army Basic Training Course, starting with basic military drill and ceremony and cadence call and ending in an all out battlefield mission to test their new skills and put them in charge.
SGT Shane Collins, a former U.S. Army Healthcare Specialist and Combat Medic, and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, has had two passions in life: a love for his country and the men and women protecting its freedoms and teaching children. After serving honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces for six years and deploying as a medical team leader with his unit, he returned home to begin his civilian career, and obtained his degree in education and started on his dream project: the creation of a children's entertainment program that would offer them the opportunity to learn more about and appreciate the work of our Armed Forces in a new, innovative, engaging, fun, and educational way. Combining real basic combat training skills and tasks with popular children's games, SGT Collins has worked to develop one of the most innovative and unique entertainment experiences currently in existence - SGT Collins has developed a program that brings Army Basic Training to a kid-friendly level, that any child from six to sixteen can enjoy and appreciate.
