Well testing Equipment checks bottom Hole Pressure

Geothermal and Co2 wells that provide energy and power from the heated gases that are below the surface of the earth need to be tested periodically to ensure the continued use of the well is not depleting the natural resources that are being extracted from the earth. Using reservoir monitoring equipment that tests the bottom hole pressure inside a well engineers are able to gain accurate readings about the condition of the well and the ability to generate the chemicals or steam that is powering electric turbines. Typically the scolding steam inside the well is too great to be measured with a pressure gauge, but by relying on capillary tubing that is connected to a gas filled chamber the well testing equipment can accurately find the pressures readings that are being generated hundreds of feet below the surface of the earth.

The data collected from the testing reports on the pressure underground and provides the information that is connected to safety of the well. Out in Pennsylvania and Ohio where fracking is used to extract natural gas from the ground the area has been hit with a series of manmade earthquakes that reveal the changes in pressure below the rock and account for the shifting ground on the surface. Although the work of fracking is safe there are concerns about the affects of the bottom hole pressure of wells that are pulling the pockets of gas out of the earth's crust. With the addition of reservoir monitoring that is able to check the constant level of the pressurization of the natural gas or geothermal steam that is being pulled out of the ground engineers and geologists can continue to assure the safety of the individuals whose property is being used for fracking purposes.

Before closing off the well and allowing the pipelines that run deep into the ground to begin extracting the geothermal or Co2 resources of the earth the well testing equipment can be installed into the pipeline where it can be used regularly to monitor the pressure inside the pipe and the bottom hole that is delivering the extracted resources from the earth. Preventing the increased drilling costs of wells that are shut down as the pressure inside them mounts the hotter wells that are the deepest set into the earth can be more closely watched and regulated by the reservoir monitoring equipment that is reporting on the conditions of the well at its very lowest point. Through the installation of the testing equipment oil and gas speculators can save a considerable amount of money on their drilling operations and recognize when it is safe to move deeper into their earth to extract its resources and when to slow down and take a breath between continuing to frack the ground.
