Business Description

Wilk Furniture has been a fixture in Random Lake since 1880. Initially the store was owned by Fred W. Wilk who sold farm implements, furniture and funeral caskets. Fred's son David G. Wilk took over the furniture and funeral business and moved it to its current location in 1910. Over the years several additions were made to the store including a funeral parlor in the 1930's, along with additional alterations in the mid 1950's. These additions have given the store it's unique character and have provide each of the multiple show rooms with its own distinctive appearance and charm. David's sons Leroy Wilk and Fred Wilk owned and operated the store and funeral business from 1948 to 1983. Leroy's son Robert (Bob) Wilk took over the business and continued to operate the funeral home until 1999. The end of the funeral business freed up floor space and the show room was expanded. Also in 1999, Bob's wife Cindy and Kris Bemis began their involvement with the sales side of the business. In January of 2011 Bob sold the business to long time employee Kris Bemis and her husband Peter. Our store offers an inviting combination - the ambiance and charm of the historic furniture store built in the early 1900's, along with a full line of modern furniture, flooring and accessories.
