Business Description
Welcome to the LOVE THY NEIGHBOR- VETSCOUNT home page. We are a interfaith non-profit, privately owned, organization formed to assist the homeless, disabled, elderly, singleparents, and low income, with priority given to veterans and their families in the West Virginia area, the Beckley/ Raleigh County area in particular.
We presently receive no monies from the Federal or local government and survive on donations only. Please help the people in your area and the people that help us to be free.
Donations will be split between accounts for the Veteran Population and the Non -Veteran Population unless otherwise requested, more about that will be explained on the Donate section of this site.
With the Afghanistan conflict suppose to be ending in the near future, some if not all the returning veterans will be suffering from depression, Post Thematic Stress Syndrome, being acclimated to the military lifestyle, and other conditions, some of which will have the additional disadvantage of not having a home to return to that they can call their own.
It is our goal to help these returning hero?s with their transition back to civilian life. More will be explained in the Veterans section of this site.
On the Non- Veteran Population side of the organization, we will as funds permit help with EMERGANCY housing, with utility bills, medicine, etc. While not connected to any medical service may suggest doctors in the area that charge decreased prices to the low income.
We will be working hand in hand with some of the other local community support organizations in the area to help the less fortunate.
