A coffee-table presentation book with the same publisher is currently in progress. The diversity of Roy's photographic work is evident in the cultural murals and galleries at the Alaska Native Heritage Center, for which a yearlong project was recently completed portraying the rich traditions of Alaska Native people. He also recently completed an extensive photographic assignment for the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Trustees Council to document scientific research projects, land use and acquisitions from Prince William Sound to Kodiak Island for the 10th Anniversary of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.
Business Description
Roy Corral, for many years the photo editor at Alaska magazine, is a longtime independent Alaska photographer. Roy graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a journalism degree with special emphasis in photography, and additionally holds a Master of Education degree in Community Education from Colorado State University.
Roy has explored Alaska's far regions from the Arctic to the Inside Passage and the remote Pribilof Islands, but admits it would take many lifetimes to experience Alaska's vastness. He homesteaded a 40-acre wilderness parcel in the Brooks Range during the 1970's, built his home from logs and explored the surrounding wilderness by dogteam and skis.
