Business Description

The City of Portland is like a mocking bird which does not spell the word “efficiency”. It has grown like a fat cat so it does not know how to stop gang violence; it does not know how to create more jobs, does not know how to stop drug trafficking. After 32 years as a professional engineer for the City of Portland, I have decided to stand up for you to run the city more efficiently. I will restructure all departments to save tax money, your money. I will cut the sewer bill by 25% and general expenses by 20%. I will use my engineering judgment to scratch out any engineering projects which do not justify from the engineering stand point. I will create a Correction committee to clean up all political filth, mistakes, and special influence groups which have accumulated in the City. I will negotiate a straight and transparent relationship with unions, coalitions and political groups which represent special interests to run the city business for you, not for them. I will revive a moral movement to restore our moral standards and make Portland the most livable city in the U.S. once again. We’ve got to respect ourselves, respect others, respect our children, respect our elders and respect our community. Let me reshape the Portland police to be more democratic in their reaction with our citizens and respect the community but be tougher to criminals on the other side. I will make Portland the hub of Asian business by working with airlines to create direct flights from Seoul, Tokyo, Paijing and encourage Asian countries to bring business to Portland. A positive relationship with Asian countries is a “win, win” situation for all of us as President Obama pointed out in his state of the union speech. We are in the rim of Pacific; we’ve got to take advantage of this important geographic location. We will establish an “Appeal Center” inside the mayor’s office to listen to any wrong-doings, injustices, or any improvements the City needs to make. I will attend the neighborhood association meetings regularly to listen to your voice as well. Asian wisdom says that people who look out for tomorrow, start business to make money now; people who look ahead 10 years, plant trees; people who look ahead 100 years, build a school & educate children. I believe education is the foundation of our country and the future of our nation. I decided to run for the office of mayor since I have a vision, passion and the capability to look out over the next 100 years for the city of Portland. I love the natural beauty of Portland, I love people of Portland. We are fortunate to live here. I started as a Janitor 36 years ago and I am a business owner now. I am old enough to know how to represent you since I have experienced all aspects of life. Do you want to stop gang violence? I will stop it by imposing hefty penalties to house owners involved in any gang violence or drug dealings. I will support a role model program “The matching senior citizen with young student at risk” to provide role models. They deserve something better than what they see from drug dealers. Do you want a better education? I will save tax money by better management and make the Portland school district one of the best. I will work hard to trust me first, then I will use my leadership to work together to make our school better than others. Do you want more jobs? I will open more direct dialogs with Asian countries to bring more jobs back here. I will revitalize the forest industries to create more jobs in the Portland area. Do you want a mayor who will cut your sewer bill? Chicago’s sewer average rate is $282, ours is $680 per household in a year. I promise you to cut your sewer bill by combining the Bureau of Environmental Services and Water Bureau like City of Chicago does to reduce the operation cost by 25%. Then, your choice is clear. Let me be your mayor on May 15. I will be on your side as the people’s mayor.
