Soap from Goat Milk?

What goes into a bar of Goat Milk Soap?

Goat's Milk  is rich in calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium as well as Vitamins A,B-1, B-2, B-3 and B-12.  Soaps made with goat's milk nourish the skin.

Basic Oils used in our Goat Milk Soaps- different oils produce different results. We use Coconut, Palm and Olive most of the time  as they blend well and have specific qualities. Coconut  oil produces a nice lather.
Palm Oil  adds hardness to the soap and Olive Oil makes  a fine skin care fine ingredient in our goat milk soaps.

Other oils we use are:
Sunflower oil is high in Vitamin E
Shea Butter is great for soaps. It has less odor and wonderful moisturizing qualities.

We use sodium hydroxide (lye) and combine it with Goat Milk.   The lye /milk solution is then combined with the fats and oils. Mix completely in proper proportions and we have soap. There you have it. To make Goat Milk Soap you need Goat Milk mixed with lye and fats.

We add essential oils and sometimes fragrance oils to our soaps. We are starting a line of unscented soaps to be available soon..

In addition to essential oils we sometimes add  ingredients such as dried zest, and ground oatmeal .

Our soaps must cure for 4-6 weeks to harden and release any excess moisture.  Please keep  that in mind if you want to place an order for Holidays and Special occasions.   Allow up to 6 weeks for delivery  for soaps not in stock.

The most important ingredient is our love and care in the way we produce  and handle the soap. We know the goats who produce our milk.  It is yet again stewardship that leads us to love and respect this soap making process and hope it reflects in our products.

Visit us often as we add different lines of Goat Milk Soaps and love the share the process with you.
