One of the most difficult decisions when thinking about getting a tattoo is where to go. The mistake many people make is they don't do there homework. While trusting in your friends can and often does lead to a good shop. It is not always the case. The reason being, sometimes people can have a personal reason why they like a specific shop. Unfortunately that does not mean you are going to have the same experience they did. The best way to know where to go when wanting to get your first tattoo is research. Not only ask your friends but go to the shops in your area or ones that you have heard about. Visit these shops talk to some of the artists, look around the shops. Get a feeling of what they are all about. Nine times out of ten, if you walk into a tattoo shop and you feel uneasy or just a little weird about being in there? Then that is not the shop for you. Getting a tattoo is a very personal thing, and should never be taken lightly. When walking into a tattoo shop you should be treated with kindness and the utmost respect. When that happens not only will you enjoy the experience, you will remember it for the rest of your life and more than likely want another tattoo or piercing in the future. Just remember, it's all about you, it's your tattoo not ours. Listening to what we might think is fine. However at the end of the day it is about what tattoo or piercing you want.
