MERCHANT CREDIT CARD PROCESSING

by S. ISHIKAWA of HAWAIIAN MERCHANT SERVICE EXPRESS, LLC ( 5-Aug-2013 )

These days it can be very confusing and frustrating in settting up a business tp accept credit card payments.  Most of the sales pepeole have very little experience and many times set up merchants with  a processing that is both costly and not the best solution for their needs.  Rates can very according to the way the business plans on taking the payments.  If they are setting up an internet website looking for a gateway for processing, the rates are typically a little higher than if taken in person and swiped through a machine. Signatures and proper ID can minimize the amount of risk invoovled in taking payments in person, and therefore are rewarded with a retail rate, rather than a MOTO (mail-order/telephone order).

Also be sure to find out what the length of the contract is.  We've seen many merchants that were unhappy with their rates or their level of service received and were stuck with their current provider until they're contract expired.  Early cancellations can be very costly!

It also doesn't hurt to ask for references if not refered to by another business.  Talking with other merchants already on service with the provider will give you a peace of mind that you're dealing with a reputable company that cares about your business.

Please give our company a call for our recommendations in your processing needs.  We are reputable, been in business for over 14 years and are listed on Dunn and Bradstreet.
