New ColorMax® Stains Position CertainTeed® as the Siding Color Leader
(Valley Forge, Pa.) – CertainTeed is strengthening its position as the color leader through the introduction of an enhanced ColorMax® stain formulation, now available nationwide for its WeatherBoards™ fiber cement siding. The three-layer ColorMax system includes an exclusive FiberTect® primer/sealer for protection against moisture, a base coat for further resistance to weather, and a semi-transparent top coat to intensify the deep, natural grain pattern and simulate a rich, stained wood look. The stains join 16 vivid ColorMax solid colors to offer a wide array of choices to complement any style home.

WeatherBoards fiber cement siding with ColorMax stains feature CertainTeed’s exclusive TrueTexture™ system, which utilizes a direct transfer system from real cedar boards to create an authentic wood appearance. The six newly formulated natural wood stains include Redwood, Mahogany, Maple, Cedar, Emerald and Slate and are available on Perfection Shingles, Random Square Straight and Staggered Edge Shakes, Cedar Lap Siding in 6 1/4-, 7 1/4- and 8 1/4-inch, 12-, 16-, and 24- inch Solid and Perforated Soffit and 5/4-inch trim in 4-and 6-inch by 12-foot lengths.
WeatherBoards fiber cement siding has a Class A (1) flame spread rating and is impact-resistant, impervious to wood-boring insects, resists UV rays and will not rot. The product is backed with an industry-leading 50-year limited transferable product warranty, a 15-year ColorMax stain or solid color coating warranty and a two-year SureStart™ protection covering both labor and materials.
