Your Guide To What's Happening in Piney Orchard
*Special Edition*
Santa Claus Coming to Piney Orchard
You better not pout. You better not cry. Why? Because on Saturday night, December 14 at 6:00 p.m. Santa Claus will be arriving on the Capitol Fire Truck for a visit to the Piney Orchard Community Center. For those wanting to watch from their windows, or waive as Santa's truck comes through the community, Santa will be entering the community just before 6:00 p.m. at the entrance at Waugh Chapel Road and proceed down Strawberry Lake Way and then right on Stream Valley Way. Just look for the lighted and decorated fire truck.
Everyone is invited to bring their cameras to come meet and greet Santa outside the Community Center for this FREE community event. Santa will available to take photos with the whole family and there will be warm cider and cookies for everyone.
At 7 p.m., the Anne Arundel High School Chorus will be singing your favorite holiday songs, so join your family, friends, and neighbors in sharing the spirit of the season.
While there is no charge for this event, we do ask you to please bring a new unwrapped toy for the annual Toy for Tots campaign, so that less financially fortunate children in our community can experience the joy of Christmas.

Toys for Tots Campaign in Full Gear
POCA has once again teamed up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for our 5th Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive. Toys for Tots helps less financially fortunate children in the community experience the joy of Christmas by collecting new toys for distribution to these children as Christmas gifts. Thanks to everyone who has helped us to get on track to what looks like our best year yet. The campaign runs to December 18, so you still have time to participate by dropping off a new unwrapped toy in the collection boxes located in the main lobby of the Community Center.
Children's Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus SOLD OUT
The Children's Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus on December 14 from 10 a.m - Noon, is completely full. Thank you to everyone who made early reservations. Registered attendees please don't forget that while there is no charge for this event, please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate for the Toys for Tots campaign when you come.

Volunteer with POCA in 2014
YOU can help continue the Piney Orchard tradition of great community events like Breakfast with Santa and the Street Festival by stepping up to volunteer to help organize, setup, clean up or actually run one of these events in 2014.
We would hate to see any of these events cancelled, but without more volunteers they may not be able to continue. Many hands makes light work, so why not make volunteering for a few hours each month with POCA a New Year's resolution for 2014 -- one that you can actually keep.
For more information on serving your community, please e-mail us at volunteers@pineyorchard.org or call (410) 672-4273.
