Young adult readers are gobbling up the works of authors that cater to the situations that closely resemble what they are dealing with as they go through adolescence. Of course the settings and circumstances that the main characters are in are far different than what the youth of today are dealing with but that does not detract for the stories that are relatable to the individuals that are enthralled by the page turning popular fiction books that are being eaten up by the reader. For many teens and even adults the collection of works that take a lead character through a series of adventures is something that they cannot get enough of.

Whether set in the future, the present or the past the storylines that center on out of the ordinary events are attracting the attention of millions of readers around the world. It is interesting that the things that cannot be explained away and which haunt us are the most intriguing when it comes to exploring works of fiction. Ghosts and monsters that have lived in the imagination for eons have a grip on many cultures and people who are interested in finding out how a plot will unfold as they face the unknown and in some instances cope with their own fears as they are relating to the characters in a well written story.


For an audience that is made up of young adults the genre of fiction that has been made popular over the past decade by magic spells and sorcery as well as vampires and werewolves has been pushed into new realms of adventure by unlikely heroes and heroines that are stronger than they imagined they could be and who discover their own power as they face trauma and mayhem head on. Overcoming the weakness of their insecurities to stand up against the forces of evil is a theme that is carried through the popular fiction books to many different stories of bravery and self discovery that every teen faces at some time in their own life. Whether dealing with bullies or learning to be confident in their convictions and beliefs the words that are written for young adults have special meaning to the reader who is able to apply the lessons from their work into the circumstances and situations that they are challenged by at home, school or work.
