Window Coverings and Handyman

by Jay Jasenski of Lifetime Home Repair ( 30-Nov-2011 )

Many people think what an odd combination. A handyman who hangs shades and blinds!

Not really. Think about. I need to be able to use power tools, measure accurately, and work neatly. The big difference is that handyman skills are normally learned from experience, trial and error. Hanging window treatments is an art form. I went to school for this. I was also tutored on the job by the best people in the business. To this day I continue regular training classes to refine my craft.

Anybody can hang a shade or a blind. But can they make it fit, look good, and work well?

Many window covering installers are handymen. Very few handymen are window treatment installers.
