AED Machine Selection

Choosing the right aed machine package for your business or organization can be a daunting task you might think, but it is actually very simple. First you will want to determine the age of the people the aed machine would be used on. For instance if you are a manufacturing facility you do not have to have a pakage that has Child or infant pads like a daycare facility. Next you will want to decide if the aed machine will be used as a portable defibrillator like being used in a service truck or will you need an aed cabinet to mount it on the wall. Now that you have narrowed down the patients and the location it will be used you have narrowed down your selection considerablly, next you will want to decide on how much you want to spend, keep in mind not all aed batteries and pads cost the same and by purchasing a lower cost aed now may not be the best financial decision in the future with consumable costing more. For example the Philips HeartStart FRX may cost a little more now but the pads are compatible for adult and child use with the purchase of a key, that means no ordering two sets of expired pads every couple of years.

Now that you have decided on the aed machine also known as an automated external defibrillator that you want to purchase It is a great idea to train your employees or responders on the use and maintenace requirements to make sure that if the time ever comes to deploy your aeds they know where it is located, how to use it.
