For those of you that own AEDS or are thinking about purchasing an aed for your business or public place there are a few things that you may want to consider when purchasing your replacement batteries and pads for your life-saving device. First of all let me give you a scenerio that I think everyone can relate to. remeber the new device you purchased with some off brand batteries in it and a couple months later your device no longer worked because the batteries were dead or they were of such poor quality that they had leaked and damaged your device? the same principal applies to your AED, there are aftermarket batteries out there that claim to be of equal quality for just a few dollars less, but we are not talking about not being able to change the chanel on the the tv we are talking about another persons life or maybe even yours at risk if your battery fails. The Philips HeartStart FRX and the Philips HeartStart OnSite defibrillator use the same M5070A Battery and if you purchase it from a reputable vendor such as Hot Box LLC they should have some kind of logo stating that it is a genuine Philips Product or state that the product is Genuine Philips.
There are many ways to cut down on costs and purchasing non genuine products for your Life saving AED is one risk I would not take, remeber yuor life or Loved ones lives depend on your choice.
